Britain in Bloom

As local authorities gear up for Britain in Bloom judging, Windowflowers have been busy installing ever greater numbers of hanging baskets on Britains lamp columns. Our hopes rest with Richmond on Thames who are in the national finals, where we have hundreds of hanging baskets and planted troughs.

In the past, judges have been particularly impressed with the troughs of flowers on the railings outside Twickenham and Richmond Station which have somehow escaped the vandals and continued to bloom through the year.

Best of luck to Richmond uopn Thames!

Hanging baskets Bloom in Berkeley Square

For the first time, Berkeley Square has been brightened up by hanging baskets on lamp columns. They were installed earlier this Summer on the instructions of the owners of the estate.

Massed surfinia petunia planted with trailing white bidens with a central salvia have produced an effect of mixed pastel colours.

They will be in place until October when they will be replaced with Autumn baskets planted with cyclamen, solanum and pansies

Windowflowers wins RHS Medal with London in Bloom exhibit

Windowflowers were commissioned by London in Bloom to design and install an entry into the Balcony Category of the RHS London Plant and Design Show in February 2009.

The display comprised of topiary buxus planted within pots and boxes, suspended from the balcony using our specially designed brackets. Additional miniature tete a tete daffodils and Primula Obconica, both grown on our own nursery, added seasonal colour.

The Silver Gilt Medal was the highest award in that category.

After the show, Sales Director Miles Watson-Smyth, was delighted. He said " This is the first time that the company has exhibited at an RHS show and we are thrilled to have helped London in Bloom win this medal.
